I’m Katrina, a writer, musician, and creative based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. My work is shaped by curiosity, empathy, and an obsession with other people’s passions.

As an essayist and feature writer, I love to write about relationships, subcultures, and the nuances of creativity. I like stories driven by a sense of discovery, narratives that contain both vulnerability and humor. Over the past ten years, I’ve covered everything from the fandom of Twister to musicians with imposter syndrome. My story on the history of the Cincinnati roller skating community was awarded first place for feature writing in small circulation by Ohio's Best Journalism in 2022. You’ll find my work at Thrillist, Well+Good, CityBeat, and elsewhere.

I’m also a content and copywriter specializing in branding and messaging. I help uncover each client’s unique “why” and how it fits into the world. Together, we collaborate on their business goals and bucket-list projects, bringing energy and clarity to their creative vision and mission through language and strategy.

In 2020, I launched Disco Diaries, a newsletter series of essays and vignettes that explore themes like nostalgia, belonging, and memory. In 2022 Outlandish Press published my book Comforting Voids, a collection of haiku written during the pandemic, and I contributed an essay to Belt Publication’s Cincinnati Neighborhood Guidebook

As a musician, I have released music under three projects, opened for acts like the All American Rejects and Cursive, and built a nation-wide fanbase through DIY touring. In 2021 I started Analog Fair, a biennial music and arts festival that promotes without using social media and encourages in-person, face-to-face connection.

When I’m not hard at work, I like to see movies with friends, take road trips across the country, and host dinners with my husband Jake and our opinionated cat Holden.

Want to work together? Tell me something nice? Send me your favorite song? I’d love to hear from you! Reach me at katrina.eresman@gmail.com.
